Three Beauty Products that are a Waste of Money

With so many beauty and skincare products on the market, it’s hard to know which beauty products waste your money! In my research for this post, I ran across an article by the company skincare. The article reported that Americans spend 322.88 annually on beauty products, which breaks down to 26.90 per month. This post will touch on three beauty products that are a waste of money!

What’s Your Skin Type

Understanding your skin type is essential to ensure you achieve the desired results. Beauty products that do not contain ingredients that are effective for your skin type (e.g., oily, dry, combination) will not be effective. Therefore, starting with a basic understanding of your skin’s needs is essential. Check out the InKey recipe wizard for your skin type analysis.

Expensive Cleansers are a Waste of Money

The most crucial element of a cleanser is that it cleans without stripping away the natural oils in the skin. Expensive cleansers offering anti-aging qualities are a waste of money because they are not on your skin long enough to be effective. Don’t let your money go down the drain with over-priced cleansers that cannot deliver results!

Quality Cleansers for less than fifteen dollars!

Eye Creams; three Beauty Products that Waste your Money

Provided you use a quality anti-aging face cream, you don’t need a separate cream for your eyes. Facial creams may be used on the eye and provide the same anti-aging capabilities. Therefore you don’t need a special cream for a specific body part! A single quality skincare product can be used on all face parts.

Skin Toners; are one of three beauty products that are a waste of money.

The last beauty product that is a waste of money is skin toners. I stopped buying skin toner years ago, but back in the day, it was part of my daily routine. Fast-forward to current times, and the quality of cleansers has vastly improved over the years Thus, allowing for the deletion of skin toner as a step in your daily skincare routine. However, my initial research on today’s toners suggests I may be out of date on this product. Further research is warranted, and I will pass along my findings in a future post.

Navigating the Beauty and Skincare Market

Navigating the ever-changing beauty and skincare market is a challenge today. I suggest steering clear of products with outrageous claims to avoid wasting money. Additionally, researching the product before purchasing and setting realistic expectations minimizes waste.

Taking care of my skin became a part of my daily routine at a young age. I updated my routine by adopting anti-aging products, including:

You may be looking at the list above, thinking this is way too much work and money! Well, it’s not too much work if you care about your skin. My evening skincare routine consists of the three steps below and alternating treatments for each night. Consistent practice for two-three months is critical to achieving noticeable results.

  • Cleanse
  • Treat <retinoid>
  • Moisturize

The time to start using anti-aging skincare is before you see the first wrinkle or sag!
